| ......French I- 2 is an accelerrated introduction to the French language. Students will study vocabulary, sentence structure and French culture. Competencies will include describing one's family, community, school and daily routine. They will learn to describe people, compare things, describe the outdoors and locate the countires which comprise the Francophone world. .Students will learn to order food from a restaurant and discuss events from the past and future. Conversation will be stressed through every day classroom instruction, and students will be responsible for several oral presentations throughout the year. An emphasis on writing in French will be achieved through five or more essays throughout the year. Also included is an introduction to French literature through regular level appropriate readings. Their progress will be documented in their final portfolio which will represent their progress in reading, writing, speaking and listening in French as well as their ability to appreciate francophone culture. A Portfolio is required for the completion and credit of this class. |
